BEEF STEW

INGREDIENTS

  • 45 ml oil
  • 1.5 kg stewing beef bone-in
  • 3 onions chopped
  • 1 kg carrots chopped
  • 4 celery stalks chopped
  • 45 ml tomato paste
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 400 grams whole peeled tomatoes
  • 250 ml stockpot beef
  • 125 ml dry white wine
  • 400 grams of white mushrooms

Maize Meal

  • 500 ml milk
  • 500 ml water
  • 250 grams maize meal
  • 400 grams whole kernel corn drained
  • 30 ml butter salted

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Using a large pot, heat the oil and brown the meat.
  • Add the vegetables, except the mushrooms and fry.
  • Add the tomato paste and garlic fry for 3 minutes.
  • Add the beef, tomatoes, stock, and wine simmer for 1 ½ hour.
  • Add the mushrooms and simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is tender.
  • Bringing the milk and water to boil, stir in maize meal and simmer for 20 minutes, add corn to cook through.
  • Stir in butter and serve stew warm with maize meal.
